Sarah, Matt and Mya. Sarah and I met freshman year of college at Iowa State. I "unfortunately" got placed across the hall from her, and we were friends almost immediately. We bonded over the Broncos and going through a dark music period in middle school and high school. As two Iowans surrounded by a bunch of Minnesotans we were always on the same team whenever the "Tater Tot Casserole" vs "Tater Tot Hotdish" argument came about.
For the rest of college Sarah and I remained very close, since I basically stole her freshman year roommate and made her my roommate for two years. I've photographed Sarah quite a few times for some fun shoots and when graduation came around she told us all she and her guy Matt were going to Colorado I was ecstatic.
After losing two families members in a month I knew I needed some TLC and decided to cross something off my bucket list: shoot a session at Red Rocks. I immediately thought of Sarah and Matt and we met up, puppy in hand on a beautifully warm day in Colorado.
One thing I gained from this session is to always go after your dreams, even if they may seem small. Sarah and Matt are a fun ball of energy and never take themselves too seriously. I admire their spirit and their outlook on life. Sarah has one of the biggest hearts and best sense of humors I have ever met and I can't wait to see where life takes these two (hopefully to another puppy.)
