#100in168 Day Four
January 21, 2017
Alrighty, I'm gonna make this one short because of the national events today, this little blog should be the least of your worries. Or, a short little escape.Â
Â
Spot 46: Roosevelt Island Tram
Â
I loved this short little ride over to Roosevelt Island. It offered new views of the city and Roosevelt Island was a nice little escape from the whirring city. The worst part was the crowd waiting to get on the tram, but worth it.
Â

Â
Spot 47: Roosevelt Smallpox Hospital
Â
A short walk down from the tram is this hospital that sits in ruins. A very chilling scene, maybe because of the cloudy day, but a very interesting sight to see sitting in front of a thriving Manhattan.Â
Â

Â
Spot 48: Four Freedoms Park
Â
An ode to the man the island is named after this beautiful park and monument was holds beautiful sights  and for a short few minutes, for the first time since coming here I was alone and got to take the view of the city in piece by piece.Â
Â
Spot 49: Grand Central Station
Â
This American staple was a sight to be seen, buzzing with afternoon traffic. Trains leaving, trains arriving. Make your way there to really get a feel for the city.Â
Â

Â
Spot 50: Pershing Square
Â
To be honest I'm not sure why this is on the list, but alas here we are.Â
Â

Â
Spot 51: Central Cafe
Â
Justin Timberlake and Mila Kunis went on a date here in a movie. They weren't still there to my dismay. Pro: I had the best salad of my life here. Con: I broke a glass trying to move it out of the way. Classic Meredith.Â
Â
Spot 52: New York Public Library
Â
I could get lost both in the books and the halls here all day.
Â

Â
Spot 53: Bryant Park
Â
Just past the NYPL is a small park with beautiful trees and an ice skating rink in a winter village. A little piece of wonderland.Â
Â

Â
Spot 54: Times Square
Â
You knew it was coming. For being called Times Square there weren't a lot of things that told you the time.Â
Â

Â
Spot 55: Carlos Bake Shop
Â
Ya okay, hold up here. When I go to these food places I always ask what is the most special thing to order. Here they suggest the cannoli or the lobster tail. I went with the lobster tail, the closest thing to seafood I will ever eat. It was the most delicious thing I have tasted in my entire life. Crunchy on the outside, gooey and perfect on the inside. Dreams came true in that moment.Â
Â

Â
Spot 56: TonyBee Tiles
Â
These tiles are placed in various cities around the world, not marked, nonsensical. I almost walked across it without noticing it but I'm glad I did.Â
Â

Â
Spot 57: Madison Square Garden
Â
So many greats have been to this location, then theres Billy Joel. Jk, he's great.Â
Â

Â
Spot 58: Empire State Building
Â
"Now you're in New Yoooooork"
Â

Â
Spot 59: Blank Slate
Â
Coffee is my thing okay? I have to try out as many as I can while I'm here, it is my job. Plus they had etch a sketches to play on.
Â

Â
Spot 60: Thursday Kitchen
Â
After 13 miles I decided to do one of the things I was looking forward to. Adult capri sun, complete with an LED light. Best thing ever, plus it was accompanied by the best pork belly taco I've ever had.Â
Â

Â
Alright, four days down, three to go. On the home strech here folks!
